Welcome to Rivers and Feathers
“Rivers and Feathers is an online magazine dedicated to Anything Fly Fishing!”
Who is Rivers & Feathers? The short answer is, “We’re stories about “Anything Fly Fishing.” But let’s go a little deeper. Fishermen, by nature, tend to be talented storytellers. You’ve no doubt heard the term “whopper.” It relates to both a large fish and a whale-of-a-tale.
Many of these creative fishermen have even found ways of supporting their fishing habit by sharing their narratives through magazines, TV and the internet.
Rivers and Feathers, a free online magazine devoted to fly fishing, has lured some of the country’s best piscatorial pens to our writers’ pool. These dedicated anglers are willing to share their fly fishing experiences. And while their stories are technically considered non-fiction, like any good fishing story, some may still contain a real whopper or two.
Rivers & Feathers is located anywhere near water!
Wherever there’s fresh or saltwater containing feisty fish, you’ll find a story on Rivers & Feathers. From kayaking the Everglades for gator seatrout to spey casting in Ireland for Atlantic salmon, many entertaining and informative articles may inspire your next adventure. If it’s not there now, keep an eye out. We add new content every week! Let us know what you’re looking for or consider sending in your own story!
Along with stories, Rivers and Feathers has many other components like Women on the Fly, Outfitters and Lodges, Product Reviews, Outdoor News, a colorful Photo Gallery, and a Books page where you can order the work of some of our nationally acclaimed authors.
Join us as we wade into the world of fly fishing one story at a time. Whether you’re an old hand at this glorious pastime, or you’re just thinking about diving in, you need to be online with Rivers & Feathers. Oh, and did we mention, it’s FREE!
“The solution to any problem -work, love, money, whatever- is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be.”
– John Gierach

“It is my fixed conviction that if a parent can give his children a passionate and wholesome devotion to the outdoors, the fact that he cannot leave each of them a fortune does not really matter so much.”
